Will you do me a small favor?

You can help me and the people in Haiti a lot if you will.

As you may know, on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake. An estimated 70,000 people minimum lost their lives during this disaster. Millions of people are now homeless. Many of them suffering from life- threatening injuries.

Families have been torn apart. Children lost parents and are now orphaned. Parents have lost children and are beside themselves.

The power of this earthquake - it measured 7.0 in magnitude - damaged most of the major landmarks in the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

The Presidential Palace, the National Assembly building, the Port-au-Prince Cathedral and the main jail now lay in ruins.

But that’s not the worst of it…

Haiti was blindsided by this crisis. No one had a clue such a calamity would befall them.

All forms of communication and even transportation do not function properly or at all. The authorities are ill-equipped to deal with looters. Desperate people are plundering empty buildings for water, food, candles and anything else they can get.

Logistical problems are causing International aid to slowly make it to the people needing it most.

To add insult to injury, a 6.1-magnitude aftershock rocked Haiti on Wednesday, January 20.

The bottom line is this: The people of Haiti need all the help they can get.

And I’m planning on helping them out.
